Marco Evangelos Biancolini, CTO and founder of RBF Morph, was among the distinguished speakers at the Engys UGM 2023 conference in Frankfurt, Germany, from October 23 to 25, 2023. The event gathered industry leaders, researchers, and engineers to discuss the latest advancements in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and simulation technologies.

During his presentation, Biancolini introduced “Empowering Automotive External Aerodynamics Using Advanced RBF Mesh Morphing Methods.” His talk provided an in-depth overview of RBF’s innovative approach to mesh morphing, showcasing its application in optimizing aerodynamic performance. Key topics included the geometric parameterization strategy, the seamless integration of RBF with Engys HELYX software, and real-world applications in the automotive sector, such as drag reduction and shape optimization.

Biancolini’s presentation highlighted how RBF Morph technology enables fast and accurate shape modifications without the need for remeshing, making it an essential tool for design optimization in CFD, structural analysis, and digital twin applications. The session concluded with insights into future developments, including fluid-structure interaction, adjoint-based shape optimization, and AI-driven solutions.
